Pysanky are the ancient Ukrainian art of egg decorating and comes from the verb "to write".
The process will take you layer by layer
using beeswax and a series of dyes
(the idea of the batik method) and you will ultimately uncover a beautiful vibrant design.
In this workshop, Gloria will teach you the
basics
of this artform and you will learn about
the meanings
of the many symbols that are often
used to decorate
the delicate egg shells.
All supplies are included for this workshop, and you
will go home with your own decorating kit.

Spend two Saturdays with Art Reach and turn an ordinary piece of wood furniture into a show piece for your home, garden, office or wherever you need a bit of fabulous in your life! Participants in this workshop will bring their own small piece of furniture and learn hands-on as they combine spray paints and artist’s acrylics to create a completely functional work of art. Furniture options limited to a dining chair, stool or small end table due to space restrictions. Garage sale and thrift shop finds are
a great place to start.
(Note: Students to furnish their own wooden furniture piece (new or used) and will need to transport it to and from each class session. Please keep the item you choose to a smaller size for space purposes. Example: dining room/kitchen chair or small side table.)
