Ukrainian Easter Egg
Decorating Workshop
(1-Day Workshop)

Adult Class

Instructor: Gloria Siers

Pysanky are the ancient Ukrainian art of egg decorating and comes from the verb "to write".

The process will take you layer by layer
using beeswax and a series of dyes
(the idea of the batik method) and you will ultimately uncover a beautiful vibrant design.

In this workshop, Gloria will teach you the
basics of this artform and you will learn about
the meanings of the many symbols that are often
used to decorate the delicate egg shells.

All supplies are included for this workshop, and you
will go home with your own decorating kit.

Mother's Day Card Making Workshop
(1-Day Workshop)

Instructor: Debbie Brown Sebastian

You will learn how to make beautiful and unique handmade cards that allow you to create cards that show your personality and style. We will show you techniques for making Contemporary to Vintage cards and postcards. We'll also teach you how to make your own decorated
Gift Tags. You'll learn how to incorporate stamped
images, Vintage card stock, photos, 3-D effects,
Vintage lace and ribbon, antique buttons and much
more, to create works of art. I'm sure that this class
will not disappoint and you'll leave with at least 5 or
more finished cards and the knowledge that you
need to make these wonderful cards.

Fabulous and Functional!
Furniture Art
(2-Day Workshop)

Adult Class

Instructor: Paula Clark Nettleton

Spend two Saturdays with Art Reach and turn an ordinary piece of wood furniture into a show piece for your home, garden, office or wherever you need a bit of fabulous in your life! Participants in this workshop will bring their own small piece of furniture and learn hands-on as they combine spray paints and artist’s acrylics to create a completely functional work of art. Furniture options limited to a dining chair, stool or small end table due to space restrictions. Garage sale and thrift shop finds are
a great place to start.



(Note: Students to furnish their own wooden furniture piece (new or used) and will need to transport it to and from each class session. Please keep the item you choose to a smaller size for space purposes. Example: dining room/kitchen chair or small side table.)

(All other supplies,
except wooden pieces, are included.)

Creativity and Expression
in Mixed Media
(8-Week Session)

Adult Class

Instructor: Dorota Lagida Ostling

Explore the fabulous, textured effects of mixed media.
A series of exercieses open up a wide variety of approaches: watercolor, soft pastel, oil pastels, as
well as classical drawing methods. You will learn how to
see in new ways through exercises in framing and composition. Learn to look for aesthetic form and color
all around us - often in places where they seem absent
and bring this new insight into your work.

Constructive Daydreaming:
Find Your Passion and Purpose
with an Artist's Journal
(5-Week Session)

What do you truly love? How do you create meaning
in your life? These are essential questions we will be exploring in this workshop as you begin crafting your artist's journal, a mixed media form that blends writing
and visual imagery in a uniquely expressive form. We'll
give you the tools and techniques you need to discover your passion and envision the meaning of your life. Each class will be shaped by thought-provoking questions
and creative excercises, and, by the end of the workshop, you will have everything you need to create a personal mandala, an inspiring representation of your passion
and purpose -- and you will be on your way to
establish a richly rewarding, lifelong practice.

Rag Rug Making (4-Week Session)

Adult Class

Instructor: Amy Shindorf

Making "Rag Rugs" became particularly popular from
1890 to 1910 especially among women in the country
or frontier. They are colorful and fun to make! Rugs
are a great decoration that add color to boring rooms,
and warm up the floor during cold winter months.
Amy will teach you step-by-step techniques to
help you create your own rag rug.

Chinese Watercolor Class
(8-Week Session)

Adult Class

Instructor: Jamie Hui Zhang

Chinese traditional water colour class---Study of Song Dynasty (960-1279) flowers and birds. Chinese painting has 2000 years of history. In this class students are
going to learn some basic Chinese water colour techniques through copying the Song Dynasty classic paintings.
For beginner, flowers and birds are the best subjects
to start with. We are going to use some original size
prints to study. Students are going to use rice paper, animal hair brushes, Chinese water colour made from plants and mineral stones. No drawing foundation necessary, anybody could learn this ancient artform.
