About the Artist: " One significant reason I paint is to tell a story through imagery. Storytelling is a huge part of my heritage and a tradition that resurfaces at every family gathering. My most recent series entitled “Roots and Branches,â€� illustrates several family stories in a style reminiscent of childhood storybooks. Actual plants and trees inspired each piece. I selected them as references because their position and location reminded me of a family member’s situation. My hope is that many viewers will recognize the familiar themes of their own stories in these works of art.   ~Jeanne Fisher

About the Artist: "My exhibition is primarily a series of black and white photographs of African animals that depict their relationship with the environment. The images reflect the textures of their native habitat and reveal a stature or integrity that is lost when viewing these creatures in a zoo or in living color. The African woman is the center of the exhibition. She represents the heart of Africa and the relationship she has with flora and fauna. Thus, the trees and animal photos extend from her sides. At opposite ends of the presentation is a color photo depicting a more romanticized view of African wild life." ~Alan Weber
