Need help loosening your grip on your creative practice? Join instructor Tena Gilbreath for an introduction to abstract art and channeling aspects of synesthesia through acrylic painting. Synesthesia is the bridging of senses that allows some to see colors in music or experience taste with specific words. While most do not experience this phenomenon (Tena does!), you can learn to play with this ability to free yourself from rigid expectations in your work and play with paint. Expect to learn more about abstract art, touch on some art history and put these tools to practice with acrylic paint and some music. All supplies are provided and no experience is necessary, just come open minded!
This 2-week course will be held from 1-3 pm on Tuesday, November 10 & 17, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at 111 E. Broadway, Mount Pleasant, MI.
Recommended age: 13 and up
