Aboriginal Art: Dot Painting (Week 1)

  • Art Reach of Mid Michigan 111 E. Broadway St Mt. Pleasant United States (map)

Practice the art of pointillism, or dot painting, with instructor Annie Croft. Inspired by Australian Aboriginal designs, students will create intricate organic shapes that build up in concentric rings, resulting in beautiful artworks in acrylic. The process is methodical and soothing, allowing students to enjoy relaxing music while they create. No experience is needed, only the ability to focus on details, so this is best suited for teens and adults. Sample images and templates will be provided for inspiration.

This 2-week workshop will be held from 1-3 pm on Tuesdays, June 9 & 16, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway, Mt. Pleasant, MI.

Recommended age: 12 and up
