Aquatic insects are an essential part of a balanced water ecosystem, and the ones that are present can tell you a great deal about pond life and how healthy or unhealthy it is. At this Kids & Culture event, children will have the opportunity to scoop water from our local Chipp-A-Waters Park pond and identify the aquatic insects living there. An insect identification craft and a snack activity will also be provided. This event is offsite at Chipp-A-Waters Park 1403 W. High St Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. To reach the activity, please follow the trail from the main parking lot to the first pond.

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a book, May the Mayfly or Song of the Water Boatman & Other Pond Poems. In partnership with Chippewa River District Library and Chippewa Watershed Conservancy. Attendees at each Kids & Culture 2023 event will be entered into a monthly drawing for (2) day passes to the Soaring Eagle Waterpark in Mt. Pleasant.
