Join knitter Tanya Ehrsam to learn the fundamentals of knitting. Beginning knitters will learn a Hazelnut Latte sock pattern, while experienced knitters will delve into a Mocha Cable pattern.
Sock students will learn basic techniques such as casting on, knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round using circular needles or double-pointed needles, and creating the various parts of a sock. Cable knitters will learn to master the technique of cable knitting, allowing them to add texture and dimension to their projects. Students will be able to purchase their own yarn, so it suits their taste. Patterns will be provided, with instructor guidance and homework built into the six-session course, so you’ll leave with a finished project and the confidence to continue with more advanced patterns in the future.
This 6-week course will be held weekly from 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 13, and 5:30-6:30 pm, January 20-February 17, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway St. in Mt. Pleasant.
