Join instructor Tanya Ehrsam for an afternoon of instructional quilting. Following the pattern “Crown Jewels”, students will learn how to cut and piece their table runner top, layer batting, backing, and finish at home by quilting. You will create a functional piece of art that can be used any time of year, depending on the color scheme. You will be provided a supply list with the yardage needed of cotton fabric so the project can be suited to your color preference.
Students should bring their selected fabric, pre-cut, and their own sewing machine. If you do not have a machine, Art Reach will provide one. Students should have some prior machine sewing experience.
This workshop will be held from 12-4 pm, Sunday, February 22, in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway, Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Fabric Requirements for Crown Jewels are as follows:
2 different coordinating Fat Quarters
1 Yard Plain Black (or white)-leading, sashing, and binding
¾ yd tone on tone Black (or white) Background
20” x 45” Piece of fabric for backing
The cutting list will be emailed before class.
Recommended age: 16 and up
