Capture the historical beauty of the lighthouses of our Great Lakes in watercolors with this two-week skill-building workshop. Led by instructor Cheryl Meyer, this class focuses on painting luminous skies and reflective water surfaces against the architecture of lighthouses, perfect for those who want to explore the beauty of the shoreline sentinels on our Great Lakes.

Students will hone their watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet blending, gradient washes, and layering to portray your lighthouse against a lakeside background. Emphasis will be placed on creating mood and atmosphere, understanding color harmony, and working with light. All supplies provided; no experience necessary, but some prior watercolor experience would be helpful.

This 2-week course takes place from 2-5 pm on Wednesday, March 18 & 25 in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant

Recommended age: 16 and up
